Ramkrishna Forgings’ ₹170.52 crore plan targets passenger-vehicle export components

The July approval covers additional forging capacity and a press line; it is not completed investment.

From the MIE archive · Event: 24 July 2026 · Website archive version added: 19 October 2026.

Ramkrishna Forgings approved ₹170.52 crore of capital expenditure on 24 July 2026 for passenger-vehicle components and a 4,000-metric-tonne press line, according to its board-meeting disclosure.

The Kolkata-headquartered company’s annexure specifies 8,800 MT of proposed capacity addition, targeted by September 2027 and financed through equity and debt. The stated rationale includes entering the passenger-vehicle export market.

Why it matters

The plan links an Eastern India company’s manufacturing investment with an export-oriented product expansion. Approval establishes the intended commitment; equipment installation, commissioning and customer orders are separate milestones.

The 4,000-MT press-line description must not be added to the 8,800-MT capacity figure as if both were annual output. The filing does not substantiate the broader ₹250–300 crore estimate used in MIE’s September post.
