What happened
Odisha has announced ₹11,509 crore in fresh tourism investment proposals covering all districts and around 14,000 hotel rooms. Projects worth about ₹5,800 crore have already cleared the state’s single-window mechanism.
Why it matters
A larger hospitality pipeline could create demand across construction, tourism services and local supply chains. Officials estimate potential employment of around 1.2 lakh.

The next test is conversion: land allocation, project-level approvals, financing and construction timelines for the proposed hotels and resorts.
