IDL Explosives has commissioned its Bolkunda bulk-explosives silo unit near Asansol in West Bengal, according to Apollo Micro Systems’ stock-exchange filing dated 22 October 2026. The facility was inaugurated that day.
Apollo describes IDL as a group company and discloses a capacity of 9,000 metric tonnes across an 8.4-acre site. The filing does not specify an annual basis for that capacity figure. It should therefore not be read as 9,000 tonnes of additional annual production.
A supply point close to mining customers
The company says the unit will serve Eastern Coalfields, Central Coalfields and other regional customers. It adds to IDL’s national network of bulk-explosives plants and silos and is intended to support long-term orders from Coal India subsidiaries secured earlier in the year.
For the Asansol coal-belt economy, the relevant development is a commissioned industrial-supply asset closer to mining operations. Its commercial contribution will depend on the activity it supports and the business routed through it. The regional relevance lies in the supply infrastructure supporting the coal belt’s existing mining customers.
Capacity is distinct from a new order
The 22 October disclosure does not announce a new contract value, disclose the plant’s investment cost or quantify revenue attributable to Bolkunda. Existing customer orders and newly commissioned infrastructure are related parts of the business, but they are separate milestones.
Hyderabad-headquartered Apollo identifies IDL as a group company in the filing.
What would demonstrate its contribution
The next useful evidence will be disclosed utilisation, customer deliveries and any subsequent order or revenue updates tied to the unit. The filing establishes the company’s commissioning announcement, rather than an independently observed operating rate or financial outcome.
